What’s screening at Pictureville this October
This October, Pictureville is gearing up for an unforgettable season of cinema, with an eclectic mix of films, events and special screenings on offer throughout the month. Following the success of its long-awaited reopening, October sees Pictureville transformed into the ultimate cosy autumn escape.
Throughout the month, Pictureville will bring cinemagoers a rich and diverse selection of screenings. In addition to hotly anticipated new releases Joker: Folie à Deux and The Outrun, cinemagoers can look forward to a 10th anniversary celebration of Christopher Nolan’s classic sci-fi epic Interstellar on 35mm as well as Halloween themed editions of the Kid’s Club offer.
Covering everything from punk to Paddington, there’s something for all audiences to enjoy this October at Yorkshire’s largest independent cinema.
Interstellar [10th Anniversary 35mm]

Celebrate the 10th anniversary of Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar on 35mm on 4, 5 and 9 October. From the director of Oppenheimer and The Dark Knight, Interstellar sees a group of explorers' travel through a wormhole and into another dimension as our time on Earth draws to an end.
Whether you’re a Nolan fanatic or it’s your first time, don’t miss the opportunity to witness the immensity of this sci-fi blockbuster back on the big screen.
Yorkshire Film Archive: Bradford on Film
16 October
The Bradford on Film journey begins in 1896 with a bustling Town Hall Square, during the earliest days of filmmaking, and takes us through to the colourful Festival Mela in 1998.
Over 100 years of moving image history will be revealed, including days out to Shipley Glen, Haworth and Saltaire, VE and VJ Day celebrations across the city, nights out at the Blue Lace nightclub, plus much more!
Pictureville Rocks
18 – 19 October
Embrace the festival vibe at Pictureville Rocks, a two-day event bringing all the atmosphere of your favourite music festival to the big screen.
This event gives cinemagoers the opportunity to relive some of the greatest concerts of all time from the comfort of the cinema seats and go backstage with their favourite artists, including Blur, Talking Heads and Bob Marley.
Discounted Saturday or full weekend passes are available now, as well as individual tickets.
Paddington Day
20 October
Dust off your duffle coat and pack your marmalade sandwiches, Paddington is coming to Pictureville!
Paddington day sees a double bill of Paddington and Paddington 2, with an exclusive sneak peek of Paddington in Peru—due for release later this year. This special event is BYOB (Bring Your Own Bear!) and promises to be fun for all the family.
Black History Month Screenings
24 and 26 October
Celebrate Black History Month at Pictureville this October with a selection of screenings that shine a spotlight on black voices and stories in cinema.
Fall head over heels with British romcom Rye Lane, delve deeper into the mysteries of the Spider-Verse with Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse or learn more about the incredible, untold story of Katherine Johnson, Dorothy Vaughn, Mary Jackson—three African American women working at NASA, whose genius helped launch the first American into orbit. These titles champion joy, creativity and innovation, whilst highlighting the resilience and contributions of black individuals to science, culture, and society.
Fatal Femmes
25 October – 2 November
This Halloween, Pictureville presents Fatal Femmes—a series of spooky screenings paying tribute to women in horror.
With a 35mm print screening of Suspiria and a 4k restoration of Carrie, it’s the perfect opportunity to revisit titles that shaped horror history. From 1962 creepy cult classic Whatever Happened to Baby Jane to a contemporary double bill with Rose Glass’ Saint Maud and Love Lies Bleeding, it’s a celebration of the powerful, and often terrifying ways women have shaped the genre.
Kids’ Club Halloween
Weekends throughout October
The Halloween fun doesn’t end with the adults! Every weekend across October, Pictureville’s Kids’ Club takes on a spooky, family friendly theme.
Talk to ghosts with ParaNorman, befriend monsters with Monsters Inc, and cast spells with witches in Hocus Pocus—maybe they’re not so scary after all! With titles that children and nostalgic grownups can enjoy, Kids’ Club is a perfect place to celebrate the season.
