Events volunteer – Yorkshire Games Festival
We are looking for volunteers to support our unique festival of all things gaming, Yorkshire Games Festival, taking place from 12–23 February 2025. Events Volunteers help us ensure that the festival runs smoothly and that all visitors and guests have a fantastic experience. This role is a great way to experience supporting large events, meet new people, and develop your customer service skills.

Volunteer blogger
Are you a creative writer with an interest in the programme and themes of the National Science and Media Museum? We are looking for volunteers to develop a range of blog posts responding to our museum’s programme and collections, including its exhibitions and festivals. This role is an opportunity to gain insight into the development of our programmes as well as an opportunity to have your writing published on our blog.

Events Volunteers
Our Events Volunteers bring their communication skills and enthusiasm to support our visitors and event staff during our special events like Widescreen Weekend and Yorkshire Games Festival.
Volunteer Bloggers
Inspired by our museum’s themes, collections and events, Volunteer Bloggers write about topics of their choosing and are published on our museum blog. Their unique interests and insights are among the some of the most-read content—explore their posts here.
Radio Production Volunteers
While the museum is temporarily closed, a team of volunteers supports us to produce and present a monthly radio show which promotes our Sound and Vision project and gets the local community more involved in the development of our new galleries.
Collecting People’s Stories Volunteers
With their passion for history and some training from the museum, these volunteers are helping us capture and preserve local stories of scientific and social historic interest that may otherwise be lost. They conduct and transcribe oral history interviews with individuals from around Bradford.
Youth Forum
Young people from across Bradford are helping to shape the future of the museum as we undergo our £6 million transformation. The Youth Forum represent the voices and ideas of our youthful city.
Object Handling Volunteers
