Wheelchair users
Access to the museum from the front of the building is via a wheelchair-accessible entrance and automatic doors.
Pictureville Cinema
Wheelchair access to Pictureville requires use of a wheelchair lift. Please inform a member of cinema staff if you need to use it.
The cinema has one wheelchair space. Accessible toilets are located in Pictureville Bar, just outside the cinema.
Cubby Broccoli Cinema
Cubby Broccoli Cinema is located on Level 1. Wheelchair access requires use of the main museum lift. If you are visiting the cinema after the museum closes at 17.00 and require lift access, please let a member of staff know.
From the cinema doors, there is a ramped entrance/exit to the auditorium and seating for four wheelchair users.
There are no toilets on Level 1—the nearest are on Level 0, accessible via the lift.
The cinema doors require a code in order to be opened from the outside. If you need to leave the cinema during a film, please inform a member of staff, so they can let you back in to the cinema.
IMAX
Wheelchair access to the IMAX cinema is via an entrance on Level 5. If you need to use this entrance, please speak to a member of our cinema team, who will be able to help you.
Four single spaces for wheelchair users are located on the balcony. There are accompanying seats alongside.
Accessible toilets are available in the foyer, via the lift from Level 5—please ask a member of staff for assistance.

Accessible toilets are located in Pictureville Bar and in the foyer on Level 0.
d/Deaf and hard of hearing visitors
Amplified volume devices are available for screenings. Please ask a member of cinema staff if you require more information.
We offer captions for selected screenings. Check the accessible screenings page or call us on 033 0058 0058 for more information. Closed captions are also available for selected screenings. Please check our film pages or speak to a member of cinema staff for more information.
Blind and partially sighted visitors
Service animals are welcome in all our cinemas. If you wish to take your dog into one of our cinemas, please let our cinema staff know when booking so that an aisle seat can be reserved. Our cinema staff will be happy to provide drinking water for your dog.
Some screenings are available with an audio description soundtrack. Please speak to a member of cinema staff for more information.
Large print film schedules are available from the cinema. Just ask a member of staff when you arrive at the museum.
Seating
Pictureville, Cubby Broccoli and the IMAX have fold-down seats with armrests.
The IMAX cinema's premium seating is fixed open and does not fold down.
The measurements of the seats in each screen are as follows:
- IMAX premium: 47cm deep x 50cm wide
- IMAX standard: 47cm deep x 48 cm wide
- Pictureville: 47cm deep x 42cm wide
- Cubby Broccoli: 47cm deep x 49cm wide
Service animals
