The Nest (15)

A couple must face the secrets and unwelcome truths that lie beneath the surface of their marriage when they leave 1980s suburban America and move to England.

Rory (Jude Law), an ambitious entrepreneur and former commodities broker, persuades his American wife Allison (Carrie Coon) and their children to leave the comforts of suburban America and return to his native England during the 1980s. Sensing opportunity, Rory rejoins his former firm and leases a centuries-old country manor, with grounds and a stable for Allison’s horses.

However, all is not as it seems and soon the promise of a lucrative new beginning starts to unravel. The couple must face both the secrets and the unwelcome truths that lie beneath the surface of their marriage. Sean Durkin’s simmering drama is ‘one of the best films of the year’ (Vanity Fair), ‘performed to perfection by Jude Law and Carrie Coon’ (Empire).
