An enchanting new instalment of the beloved children’s wartime classic, filmed on the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, with Jenny Agutter reprising her iconic original role.
As life in Britain’s cities becomes increasingly perilous in 1944, three evacuee children, Lily, Pattie and Ted, are sent by their mother to the Yorkshire village of Oakworth. There to meet them on the platform are Bobbie (Jenny Agutter) and her family, and with their help, the evacuees are soon settling into their new life in the countryside.
When the children discover an injured American soldier hiding out in the railyard at Oakworth station, they are thrust into a dangerous quest to help a new friend who, like them, is a long way from home. Inspired by one of the best-loved British family films of all time, The Railway Children Return is a heart-warming adventure for a new generation.
