The Salt of the Earth (12A)

Documentary exploring the work of photographer Sebastião Salgado, who has spent forty years documenting deprived societies in hidden corners of the world.

Acclaimed photographer Sebastião Salgado has travelled the world, tracing the footsteps of an ever-changing humanity. He has witnessed and documented many of the major events of our time, taking in wars, genocide, famine and exodus. Now, he is embarking on a new journey: to discover pristine territories, grandiose landscapes and wild nature as part of a huge tribute to the planet’s beauty.

Salgado’s moving, accomplished work and his inspirational life are revealed to us in this Oscar-nominated documentary by his son Juliano, co-directing with Wim Wenders, himself an avid photographer.
