The Whale (15)

Brendan Fraser gives a powerful performance as a recluse suffering from severe obesity who attempts to reconnect with his estranged teenage daughter.

From hit studio A24 and acclaimed director Darren Aronofsky (Requiem for a Dream, Black Swan) comes this psychological drama, which has been acclaimed as a career comeback for Brendan Fraser and earned him a Best Actor nomination in the upcoming Oscars.

Charlie is a morbidly obese and reclusive English professor who teaches online college writing courses. A decade ago, he walked out on his marriage, leaving his then eight-year-old daughter Ellie estranged. Now Ellie is back in his life and needs help, and Charlie has one more chance at redemption.
