Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (PG)

The third Harry Potter film is a deserved fan favourite, combining wondrous fantasy with a darker, more mature tone.

Something wicked this way comes... As Harry (Daniel Radcliffe) returns for his third year at Hogwarts, the wizarding world is shaken by the escape of the sinister Sirius Black (Gary Oldman), the right-hand-man of the dark wizard Voldemort.

This fan-favourite entry into the immeasurably popular franchise perfectly captures the sense of fantastical discovery nurtured by the earlier films, yet instils the series with a darker, more mature tone. This ominous and at times introspective atmosphere is perfectly realised through John Williams’ score and a developed visual style from director Alfonso Cuarón. The result is a film that is wondrous, spooky and simply magical.
