Widescreen Weekend Lectures

New to the festival, Widescreen Weekend Lectures is a combination of short talks and presentations led by guest experts to help you discover more about the world of cinema.

Whether it’s ‘hot topics’, learning more about the big players within the film industry, or new technologies, we aim to cover a range of subjects to suit all knowledge levels.

Talks featured as part of this year’s lecture series are listed below:

  • William Friese-Greene: The Forgotten Man of British Cinema
    Talk by Toni Booth, Associate Curator of Film, National Science and Media Museum
  • Unlocking Orphan Films 
    Talk by Dr Claudy Op den Kamp, Programme Leader, BA (Hons) Film, Bournemouth University

Each talk will last between 20 and 30 minutes.
