The Wizard of Oz (U)

We’re off to see the Wizard, the wonderful Wizard of Oz! L. Frank Baum’s fantastic tale comes to life in this timeless classic.

The Wizard of Oz stars the legendary Judy Garland as Dorothy, an innocent farm girl whisked out of her mundane earthbound existence into a land of pure imagination. Dorothy’s journey in Oz will take her through emerald forests, yellow brick roads, and creepy castles, all with the help of some unusual but earnest song-happy friends.

This screening is part of our ‘Breathless Sensation’ film strand, highlighting films which have pushed the creative boundaries to create wonder in audiences. These films have been chosen to complement our exhibition The Forgotten Showman, which explores how pioneering engineer Robert Paul invented British cinema.
