Light Day

Embark on a journey to discover the science of light in this day-long package.

We will explore the central KS2 learning outcomes for Light—including light travelling in straight lines, how shadows are formed, examples of reflection, refraction and much, much more. This is a fully comprehensive day to support your students in discovering the amazing wonders of light in the world around us.

Each day costs £450, with any combination of assemblies and workshops. A typical day can be made up of 1 assembly and up to 4 workshops.

Activities

Light Assembly

  • Duration 30 minutes
  • Group size: Minimum 10, no maximum
  • Key stage: KS2
  • Special requirements: Hall or space that can be significantly dimmed or darkened. Access to water/sink for clean-up.

Light Workshop

  • Duration: 30 or 40 minutes
  • Group size: Minimum 10, maximum 40
  • Key stage: KS2

In our captivating light workshop, step into a world of wonder as we dive into the fascinating realm of optics and illumination. Through hands-on experiments and interactive demonstrations, your KS2 pupils will unlock the secrets of light, colour and reflection.

From exploring the properties of prisms to investigating the magic of shadows, our workshop will ignite their curiosity and deepen their understanding of this fundamental scientific phenomenon.
