Top Secret Schools Day

Join us in March for a series of special schools’ days exploring the fascinating world of codebreaking, ciphers and secret communications with our special exhibition Top Secret.

Your class won’t forget this inspiring full-day package of workshops, shows and activities—they’ll discover the story of Alan Turing and his team of codebreakers at Bletchley Park, learn the secrets of a Soviet spy ring in Cold War Britain and see how modern-day cybercrime works.

Your day kicks off with a live science show in our Pictureville cinema, where students will learn about Ada Lovelace and the first computer programme, the breaking of the German Enigma machine and the maths behind NASA’s first successful rocket launches with bold and fun demos to get them ready for the day ahead.

Next, you’ll explore a personalised itinerary of in-depth workshops, small group challenges and activities carefully designed around our unique collection. With dedicated time to explore our new exhibition Top Secret: From Ciphers to Cyber Security, created in partnership with our expert advisers GCHQ, this is the perfect opportunity to immerse your class in the hidden worlds of maths, technology and science and teach them about potential future careers.

Our specially-curated day will inspire your class and encourage them to develop new skills while they learn through participation and fun—all taken care of by our team of expert Explainers.

Available dates

Please note: The day will start at 09.50; end time will depend on your personalised itinerary and will be agreed when you confirm your booking.
