With everything from battling robots and Time Lord tech to a supersonic car, Bradford Science Festival 2018 celebrated the wonder of engineering.
At the museum, across City Park and at The Broadway Bradford, we invited you to peek inside, be inspired, get hands-on and have a go. There were activities, demos and games for all the family to get involved in—plus some amazing special guests.
This year’s festival will take place between 18–21 July 2019—find out more.
At the museum
We looked at what Doctor Who could tell us about engineering, with a Dalek display, workshops and VR adventures. Following his popular appearances at Bradford Science Festival 2017, Titan the Robot made a triumphant return, launching this year’s event at an adults-only Lates evening. And our cinemas were packed with scientific delights—from incredible 3D documentaries to classic sci-fi.
In City Park, the amazing supersonic car BLOODHOUND SSC was the centre of attention, and the Royal Engineers were in attendance to lead bridge-building, den-making and even a tractor challenge! The Broadway hosted robot battles, demos and shows, including the award-winning Robots Live. The festival finale saw a spectacular sound and light show taking place in the Mirror Pool.
