Celebrating the last century of TV, radio and streaming, Broadcast 100 was a bumper year of exhibitions and events across the Science Museum Group.
2022 marked the 100th anniversary of the BBC and the 40th anniversary of Channel 4. To celebrate, we looked back at the last 100 years of broadcast and took a glimpse into what the future may hold.
A bumper year of exhibitions, displays, online content and events across our museum and sister sites, the Science and Industry Museum in Manchester and Science Museum in London, explored how trailblazers in broadcast technology have forced the industry to adapt, improve and make room for more voices.
Broadcast 100 included:
- Switched On at the National Science and Media Museum
- The Future is Northern events series at the National Science and Media Museum
- Film screenings at the National Science and Media Museum
- BBC at 100 display at the Science Museum
- Celebrating 100 years of the BBC at the Science and Industry Museum
Objects and Stories from our collection
