A powerful and moving study of a group of people searching for an alternative, leading them to live on the fringes of society.
In 1993 Donovan Wylie began documenting the lives of a group of New Age Travellers. Wylie’s intimate photographs traced a group of people searching for community. Losing Ground reflected on how society has neglected the needs of those who don’t or can’t conform, and how, consequently, these nonconformists come to neglect themselves.
The Losing Ground exhibition was accompanied by a book of the same name.
