The Dengineers Half Term

Plan it, design it, build it! This October half term, we’re bringing you lots of inventive activities and events inspired by CBBC’s The Dengineers.

Find out if you’ve got the problem-solving, big-thinking, team-working skills to be a Dengineer. Investigate construction materials, pick up top tips, and get stuck into one of our family challenges!

Family activities

Plan It! Material Designs demo

What makes a great build? Think like a Dengineer and discover the differences between the materials that can be used to make a den.

Plan It! Ultimate Den Drawing

Where: Gallery Two, Level 2

Dream big and help us create a giant mood board for the ultimate den! Use your imagination to design the den of your dreams.

Design It! Design a den

Where: Gallery Two, Level 2

Make a 3D model of your dream den, then upcycle weird and wonderful materials into decorations for your design. Choose from our daily themes or let your imagination run wild!

Build It! Dengineering Challenge

Where: Makespace, Level 4

Get ready to build—can you create the tallest, strongest and most stable structure? Get hands-on with materials, team up and put your building skills to the test.

This activity is for families; children taking part will need to be accompanied by an adult.

The Big Idea family show

IMAX 3D: Dream Big (U)

Treasure Hunters app
