WONDERLAB 

DURATION: 30 minutes
GROUP SIZE: Maximum 80

Visit our most interactive gallery and get hands-on with science. In Wonderlab, students can investigate how light and sound work through an amazing range of fun, interactive exhibits. By experimenting, playing and exploring, they will learn about how light and sound are the building blocks of the technology we use every day.

Science Showdown: Creative Coders

DURATION: 25 minutes
GROUP SIZE: Maximum 110

Get involved in a live science gameshow where different contenders will battle it out to be crowned your group’s winner. Students will learn about the first computer programme, the breaking of the German Enigma machine and the maths behind the first successful rocket launches. Who is the ultimate code master: Ada Lovelace; Alan Turing; or the ‘Hidden Figures’, Dorothy Vaughn, Mary Jackson and Katherine Johnson? In Science Showdown, you decide!

A spectacular 3D documentary in our IMAX cinema—the biggest screen in West Yorkshire—is an exciting and visually stunning treat for your students. Narrated by Benedict Cumberbatch, Antarctica uses never-before-seen footage and the latest underwater filming techniques to transport you to the planet’s most mysterious and wild continent.
