Head in the Clouds
As you stick your head inside the cloud sculpture, a pleasant soft-spoken female voice is speaking:
most of our bodies
are melted snow
you are different
from two weeks ago
we are moving
through the cycle
waking water
fresh as dew
old as ice
as heavy, too
we are moving
through the cycle
rivers run through
you and me
clouds don’t die
they become tea
we are moving
through the cycle
a human’s just
a hurricane
all you are
once was rain
Sunlight Under My Skin
A soft, pleasant female voice is speaking:
Right now, sunlight is coursing through your body.
It radiated from our star as a stream of photons, rocketing along at, well, the speed of light…
…for a little over eight minutes before it arrived at earth, smack into the leaf of a plant.
The sunlight became part of that plant, and through digestion, that plant became part of you.
You’ve unlocked the energy of the sun as nutrients, as your body making and remaking its cells.
Look inside.
Your bloodstreams are capillaries of sunlight branching.
Your cells are made of sunlight, slowed down to a human pace, to a steady pulse.
The rhythm of light is the rhythm of life.
Tree of Life
A pleasant, soft-spoken female voice is speaking:
It all started with a bang. The Big Bang.
From this explosion of energy came a planet, and a sun, and a fractal, fragile web of species, past present and future.
Over millions of years we living things wove ourselves together out of energy, chemistry, survival and luck.
You are one of those lucky ones.
But you are witness to only a tiny fraction of the forms and faces that have
been, and will be.
Look around. You are hardly apart from nature. You are nature.
Weave yourself into the tapestry.
Find yourself in the kaleidoscope.
Take your spot on the farthest tip of the newest twig of the tree of life.
You’re in good company.
Water, air, energy and star-stuff flow through you, expressing themselves
in the unique shape you make.
